Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU)

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Institute of Fuel Cell, China is a key university in China. SJTU was founded in 1896. It is one of the oldest universities in China. SJTU boasts 21 academic schools, There are 60 undergraduate programs, 152 masters-degree programs, 93 Ph.D programs, 21 post-doctorate programs, 16 State key doctorate programs and 14 State key labora-tories and National engineering centres. The Institute of Fuel Cell (IFC) was established in 1998, to seek hydrogen energy that would supplant the nation's tremendous dependence on fossil fuels. Academic background of researchers at IFC covers automatic control, chemical engineering, electrochemistry, and material engineering, etc. Research areas cover PEMFC, MCFC, RFC and SOFC. IFC has the leading position in research of MCFC in China. Research activities in MCFC include material preparation, fabrication of cells and stack, system design and control. SOFC is becoming the main research area of IFC. The SOFC group focuses preparation of materials, de-velopment of key components, cells and stacks for intermediate temperature SOFC. IFC has a wide range of ceramic processing and electrochemical characterization facilities. SJTU has ex-cellent facilities for material analysis.
